The Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) is administering Emergency Housing Assistance Programs for Renters, Homeowners and Landlords that qualify during the COVID19 pandemic.  Click on the links to learn more or call the Help Desk at 1-833-620-2434, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST.   Help is available in multiple languages.


Help for Renters:

Emergency Rental Assistance Alabama can help renters with past due, current and up to 3 months of expected rent and utility and home energy expenses.

Help for Homeowners:

AHFA is in the planning stage of the new federal mortgage assistance program, to be known as "Mortgage Assistance Alabama." The Department of Treasury, which oversees operations, is expected to approve the start of operations this fall. In the meantime, more information and updates will be available here.
