The freedoms we value today could only be possible thanks to the men and women of valor who fought – and who continue to fight – to establish and defend the country we call home. As our thanks, we are offering all active military and veterans a ticket to ride the Stars & Stripes Special for FREE when accompanied by at least one other passenger. This offer is available to those who served or who are currently-serving in the United States Military. Thank you all for your service. Please provide appropriate ID at the ticket window when picking up your order. In partnership with military services, veteran organizations and reenactors from throughout central Alabama, a variety of exhibits, educational displays and historic war-time campsites will be displayed on the Museum campus. Actors in time-period costumes will share the history of each era.

The day will feature music with Eric Watters and We Are Wolves with food from Simone’s Kitchen and BBQ with The Meat Sweats.

ChelseaFest and the Big KaBoom is Chelsea’s city-wide annual 4th of July celebration. This is one of the premiere events for the city of Chelsea. ChelseaFest the Big KaBoom features great music on the main stage, food from many different food trucks and, of course, one of the largest fireworks shows in Alabama!

The city's Independence Day fireworks show will be this Saturday, July 2, at Thompson High School! The event will open at 6 p.m., and will feature food trucks, games, bounce houses and more. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. and will last about 15 minutes.
