Albert L. Scott Library seeks to provide excellent resources and services to all. These resources help residents obtain information to meet their cultural, educational, recreational and professional needs.
The Alabaster City Library was built in 1983 on land donated by one of the city's founding families. A Library Board that serves the library is appointed by the Alabaster City Council. The Friends’ of the Albert L. Scott Library is a volunteer organization that works to promote knowledge of the functions, resources, and services of the library, and conducts fundraising activities for the library.
Our selection of reading materials has never been greater. Every age and reading ability is covered! Materials we offer include: audiobooks, DVDs, large print books; newspapers and magazines, career and job search information, databases, reference materials, and digital collections. Programs are offered throughout the year for all ages. Some other services the library offers are test proctoring, notary public, tax forms and aide, meeting room space, and a makerspace.
