Shelby County public libraries exist to meet the educational, informational and recreational needs of Shelby County residents. In order to fulfill this goal, libraries offer an extensive collection of books, audio book (cassettes and CDs), videos, DVDs, music and electronic databases. Shelby County libraries are linked together as a cooperative library system.

One Card System

The system serves all Shelby County residents with one library card honored at any library in the county. The role of the Harrison Regional Library is to support all Shelby County public libraries by providing centralized services including but not limited to countywide databases of resources, patron information, electronic information, Internet access, reference and interlibrary loan services as well as daily delivery services. No matter where you live within the county you can take advantage of the Books-By-Mail program that provides library services to sick and shut-in residents.

Circulations

Countywide circulation of materials has grown to over 930,000 annually. We have a combined database of over 376,000 materials and 69,000 library users. Sizes of individual libraries vary but no matter the size, every library provides its community with much needed, high-quality library service.

We welcome you to Shelby County and invite you to visit our libraries. You will find a world of information and trained, courteous staff to assist and welcome you.
